Astronaut fine ink study

One complete astronaut standing in three-quarter view, rounded helmet with blank visor, coherent spacesuit with two arms and two legs, mitt-like gloves and boots. Practice structure, perspective and developed values in fine ink.

A way into the drawing

1. Establish the main shapes

Map the helmet, torso and four limb directions.

2. Connect the structure

Connect the suit joints, gloves and boots.

3. Develop the drawing

Resolve the connected planes and overlaps, then build layered details and a full range of local values. Preserve clear paper highlights.

A small thing to tryKeep the helmet centered over the suit collar.
