Castle marker study

One compact storybook castle with a central arched gate, two round towers and simple pointed roofs, no landscape. Practice structure, perspective and developed values in black and gray marker.

A way into the drawing

1. Establish the main shapes

   Block in the central gatehouse and two tower cylinders.

2. Connect the structure

   Connect the roofs, gate and a few clear window openings.

3. Develop the drawing

   Resolve the connected planes and overlaps, then build layered details and a full range of local values. Preserve clear paper highlights.
