Practice a goat with clear forms and selected overlaps. Add two small curved horns and long ears around the head. Keep the far horn partly behind the near one. Draw a short beard and upright tail. Use a little graphite under the beard and at the shoulder overlap.

A way into the drawing

  1. Connect the body and neck

    Sketch a rounded torso and a neck that rises toward the turned head. Place the legs below the main body.

  2. Set the horns and ears

    Add two small curved horns and long ears around the head. Keep the far horn partly behind the near one.

  3. Finish the small accents

    Draw a short beard and upright tail. Use a little graphite under the beard and at the shoulder overlap.
