A hamster holding a small seed

Build a seated hamster from a rounded body and full cheeks, then overlap its little paws around a seed. A few whiskers and small shadows keep the drawing clear.

A way into the drawing

  1. Round the body and cheeks

Draw a low pear shape and a smaller rounded head. Let the cheek curves overlap the upper body.

  2. Bring the paws together

Place two small paws in front of the chest with an oval seed between them. Add the rear feet below the body.

  3. Choose the face details

Add small ears, eyes, nose, and a few whiskers. Use a little gray under the cheek and between the paws, leaving the belly open.

A small thing to tryDraw the seed before the front paws so their curves can wrap around it.
