A way into the drawing

  1. Shape the fleece silhouette

Draw a rounded body using a small number of broad soft curves. Avoid filling the outline with tiny curls.

  2. Add the face and legs

Attach a smooth small face, floppy ears and four short legs. Hide portions of the far legs behind the body.

  3. Suggest a little wool

Add a few small inner fleece curves and a short tail. Keep gray inside the ears, beneath the head and at the leg overlaps; leave the body open.

A small thing to tryVary the size of the fleece curves gently so the outline feels soft rather than patterned.
