A snail taking its time

A tiny snail and one simple leaf. A good excuse to slow down and practice a steady, relaxed spiral.

A way into the drawing

  1. Make a generous spiral

Start near the center and slowly circle outward. Leave room between the turns.

  2. Draw the little body

Add a long soft shape below the shell and let the front lift into a small head.

  3. Finish the antennae

Place two thin antennae above the head. Add a leaf under the snail with one central vein.

A small thing to tryTurn your paper if the spiral gets awkward. Your hand does not have to do all the turning.
