A study of a wooden spinning wheel with a spoked drive wheel, flyer, bobbin and foot treadle on textured paper. Construct the drive-wheel ellipse and its supporting wooden frame.

1. Establish the construction

   Construct the drive-wheel ellipse and its supporting wooden frame.

2. Resolve the main structure

   Place the flyer and bobbin above the treadle and connect the drive band.

3. Develop the detail

   Attach the foot treadle, crank linkage and diminishing wheel spokes.

4. Control the values

   Model the wood and deepen overlapping frame joints with graphite.
