A small backpack with a front pocket

Start with a rounded bag shape, then add a front pocket, top handle, and one visible shoulder strap. A few seams and zipper pulls give it structure.

A way into the drawing

  1. Round the main bag shape

Draw a rounded rectangle with a soft domed top. Add a narrow side panel to show the bag turning away.

  2. Place the pocket and straps

Add one front pocket and the top loop handle. Draw a shoulder strap behind the side, connecting it at the top and near the base.

  3. Choose the seams and folds

Draw simple zipper curves on the bag and pocket, with short pull tabs. Add a couple of lower folds and small gray accents in the handle, side panel, and strap.

A small thing to tryLeave room between the front pocket and the bag outline. This makes the pocket read as an attached shape.
