A bell pepper with a bent stem

Build a bell pepper from three broad lobes and a bent stem. Use a few curved creases and small gray accents instead of filling its entire surface.

A way into the drawing

  1. Group the broad lobes

Draw a wide, slightly uneven outline with a lobed top and rounded lower edge. Think of three large forms joined together.

  2. Bend the stem

Place a shallow cavity at the top and add the short curved stem. Keep the small calyx simple.

  3. Turn the surfaces

Add two curved creases to separate the lobes. Put a little gray inside the stem cavity and along one lower edge.

A small thing to tryLet the crease lines fade before reaching the bottom. Continuous heavy divisions can flatten the pepper.
