A warm mug

A rounded mug, a simple handle, and two curls of steam. Practice connecting broad curves with very little detail.

A way into the drawing

1. Sketch the rim

   Draw a shallow, wide oval for the top of the mug.

2. Round out the cup

   Bring two sides down from the rim and join them with a rounded base. Add a small loop handle on one side.

3. Let the steam rise

   Draw two loose curved lines above the mug. Leave the cup white without shading or patterns.

A small thing to tryGive the handle a generous opening. A simple loop is easier to draw than a narrow, intricate handle.
