Draw a small padlock in three-quarter view with a rounded shackle and plain keyhole. A narrow side face and selected shadow show its thickness.

A way into the drawing

  1. Give the body thickness

    Draw a rounded rectangular front and a narrow side plane. Keep the top corners aligned to the same view.

  2. Curve the shackle

    Draw the U-shaped shackle with two parallel curves. Anchor both ends into the top of the lock body.

  3. Place the keyhole and accents

    Add a plain keyhole on the front and a short lower seam. Use a little gray at the shackle edges and roots and on the narrow side face.
