A round teapot ready for tea

Join a rounded pot, curved spout, and open handle into one clear shape. A simple lid and restrained gray edges provide a little depth.

A way into the drawing

  1. Round out the pot

Draw a wide rounded body and a short base. Add a shallow oval lid that sits naturally across the top.

  2. Connect the spout and handle

Attach a curved spout to one side and a broad loop handle to the other. Check that both handle ends meet the pot.

  3. Finish the rim and shadows

Place the lid knob and spout opening. Use small gray accents beneath the lid and around the inner handle, keeping the broad body open.

A small thing to trySketch the handle opening before its outer edge. The empty space is easier to judge than the thickness alone.
