A small suitcase with two broad straps

Sketch a small suitcase as a rounded box with a top handle. Two broad straps, simple clasps, and a narrow side face give it enough structure to practice overlaps.

A way into the drawing

  1. Round the case box

Draw the broad rounded front and a narrow side plane. Add a simple seam where the case opens.

  2. Attach the handle and straps

Place the carry handle on top with two clear attachments. Run two broad straps down the front and add a plain clasp to each.

  3. Finish the small supports

Add two short feet and small reinforced corner patches. Use gray in the handle, clasps, and narrow side edge, leaving the main case surface open.

A small thing to tryWrap the straps over the top edge before bringing them down the front so they feel attached to the case.
