A way into the drawing

  1. Arrange three caps

    Sketch a large curved cap and two smaller ones at different heights. Overlap them a little.

  2. Add the stems

    Drop a slightly curved stem from each cap. Mark the underside with a shallow arc.

  3. Find the texture

    Add radiating gills under the caps and a few irregular spots above. Shade lightly along one side.

A small thing to tryLeave a little space between the darkest gills so the underside of each mushroom stays readable.
